Pirates, the Beach and Homeward Bound

We went to Cozumel, Mexico one day. Chris and I snorkeled for a good part of the day. Not the best experience we have had...the current was definitely strong that day and we had to WORK to get back to the shore. We made it back in one piece though! That evening, they had a "Pirates IN the Caribbean" theme. Everyone could dress up in their pirate garb and enjoy the festivities. We didn't go all out, I did make an eye patch for Sam to wear and found a "pirate shirt." A lot of kids (and sadly some adults) went all out and were dressed to the nines. I thought my little pirate was still pretty cute!

It was funny watching him try to look out just one eye for part of the evening.
Everyone gets a little crazy every now and then!

Each night our steward made the infamous towel animals for us to enjoy. There were a couple nights where we couldn't tell what animal it was supposed to be. Sam seemed to find them intriguing nonetheless.

The last day was a day at Castaway Cay. This is Disney's own private island. It was pretty amazing. The beach was beautiful and the water was so calm and crystal clear. Chris and I aren't HUGE beach people. Sam loved playing in the sand and loved getting in the water. He had a great time, looks like Chris and I will have to sacrifice for our little guy going forward!

A shot from our room balcony.
Sam was worn out. We had a long wait at the airport. He was wound up the whole time. JUST before they called us to get on the plane, Sam fell fast asleep in his stroller. He laid on me the entire flight home sound asleep, just to awaken a few minutes before touchdown in Nashville!
