We travelled to Indiana for Easter this year to visit with my mom's side of the family. Grandma was thrilled to see her only great grandson. The weekend started out perfectly....sort of. It is a tradition to dye eggs. Keeping with that, mom boiled a dozen eggs for us to decorate. I found what I thought was going to be a fun (and easy) kit to use. Tie-dye eggs....how much fun....right? Not so much. They were pretty difficult for a 30+ year old, let alone a 2 year old. We gave it a good effort and I gave up after 1 egg. Luckily, I picked up a Cars decorating kit too. Just a bunch of stickers to put on the eggs. They weren't as much fun as other decorating options, but Sam was really happy about Cars and stickers. That's all that really matters in the end. Here are a couple of the eggs we ended up with....
I thought we could enjoy our eggs as a snack. We sat down and I started peeling the eggs. Noticing they felt a little soft, I decided to break one in half before serving it to Sam. Good thing I did. This was the result (by the way, I wasn't the one that cooked them)....
The next day, we did our Easter egg hunt. This year the bunny could be a little more inventive than just putting them on top of the grass everywhere. Sam loved the hunt! He wouldn't put his basket down to make more room.

Sam sleeps at grandma's when we go to Indy and Chris and I get a hotel room. When we got to the house Easter morning, my dad greeted me with....."Boy did you miss it last night!" Not sure what that meant, apparently Sam got sick during the night and his spaghetti from the night before made another appearance. Thinking that he was better, we got him dressed for church and he got his Easter basket.
Here are a couple shots I got of Sam all dressed up.
We were planning on family photos after church. Unfortunately, Sam decided he was still sick and we got to see oatmeal from breakfast all over his lovely suit. Needless to say, daddy and Sam stayed home from church. Here's how I found them when we got back....
Our one family photo from the weekend. (I hope to get some better ones soon)

Sam looked so cute in his suit. That's too bad that he got sick while you were there. I'm glad that he still was able to have some fun!
