Bear Day!

Monday was "bring your favorite bear to school day." Sam has no teddy bear, so Mickey Mouse had to suffice. Mickey is very special to young Sam. He sleeps with him every night and Mickey is one of the only "sleeping toys" that gets to go along with him. Mickey gets to stay in Sam's room at all times and doesn't get to come out and play very often. To Sam, when he found out he got to take Mickey to school, he was OVERJOYED. I read the note Friday afternoon about bear day. As soon as we got home, Mickey made it to the kitchen table to draw a picture for Ms. Tracy at school. He also shared a snack with Sam. Monday morning, I've never seen a kid so excited about the upcoming events of the day!

Sam went to the living room and added pillows to Mickey's chair so he was tall enough.
They are drawing pictures together.

Time for Mickey to have a pretzel.

For breakfast, Sam told me that Mickey had to eat a dead frog.
A little disturbing, but I went with it.

I suggested Mickey have a cereal bar instead.

A little cosmetic surgery before school.

Ready for the drive. I stopped short of buckling him in though.

Isaac's trying to figure it all out.

SO EXCITED!!!

Emptying his backback. SO GLAD Mickey made it back home.
According to Sam, Mickey had a great day. He continued to hang out with us for a little while longer for snack time and some tv time, then back to his room to stay.

It's amazing what excites little ones. I hope he never looses his sense of excitement...even over the small things in life!
